Biography

Unique designs are inspired by a life-long love of silk and nature. Her hand-painted images recapture the gardens of her youth and reflect her appreciation of the East Coast's simple beauty.

Few artist approach their work with such care and patience. Starting with French dyes and the tinest fabric, Marilyn outlines her designs with gutta resist to control the movement of the dye and to separate the colours. A two to three hour steam-set fixes the dye to the fabric and ensures the vibrancy of the colour, even after washing.

Marilyn is a Juried member of the NewBrunswick Crats Council and Member of the Sackville Craft Gallery. Her work combines luxurious silk with bold colours in pleasing designs, an exquisite compliment for the senses.
